BibTexT Management

Managing citations can be quite challenging, especially when you’re nearing the end of your thesis or preparing to submit your paper. It’s frustrating to see a long list of LaTeX warnings pop up, especially when you’re unsure why you're receiving them, even after diligently copying from legitimate sources. As a newcomer to research, I often struggled to understand what each BibTeX style required. In the summer of 2026, I volunteered as a citation checker at the SOUP conference. Our task was to review the output from automated citation checkers to determine whether any false positives or fabricated citations were present. The conference committee trained us on BibTeX, and from that experience, I created my own presentation slides. I want to acknowledge that most of the content was inspired by Prof. Maximilian Golla and Kami Vaniea. In the slides, you will find information about:
